On January 19^th, the UC Irvine Center for Addiction Neuroscience (ICAN) held their first Addiction Symposium at the University Club. ICAN’s director, Professor Marcelo A. Wood, kicked off the symposium with an encouraging welcome to the gathering of faculty and students on hand. The event consisted of faculty from across the university that specialize in addiction giving small presentations highlighting their current research and technical expertise. Part of the goal of the symposium was to help foster collaboration between faculty researching addiction. The opportunity to discuss their research and technical knowledge among one another will greatly help in the overall success of ICAN.
