At this year’s freshman welcome, Dean Frank M. LaFerla invited incoming students to join their peers at the fall quarter “Donuts with the Dean” event in the foyer of the Office of the Dean in Natural Sciences II.  Many of the incoming students accepted his offer and made the fall 2016 “Donuts with the Dean” one of the largest since its creation.  In addition to conversation with the dean, students had the opportunity to speak with the founder of Ambry Genetics and member of the Dean’s Leadership Council, Charles L.M. Dunlop.  The students were also joined by Professors Kavita Arora, Sue V. Bryant, David M. Gardiner, Raju Metherate and Kathleen K. Treseder, and several student affairs and Dean’s Office staff members.  The dean was pleased to have had such a large number of incoming students attend the event and looks forward to welcoming more students next quarter.
