“Before and after – The Evolution of a successful biotech business plan”

Thesan is a local biotech/pharma company that has recently completed a $16M Series A financing round. The company focuses on development of novel approaches for the treatment of dermatological disorders, including its lead drug candidate which is a topically-applied new chemical entity expected to enter the clinic in 2013. Thesan’s initial products are licensed from UC Irvine, and were initially developed in the laboratory of Professor Daniele Piomelli, Louise Turner Arnold Chair of Neurosciences at UC Irvine. Dr. Monaghan will describe the development of the business plan that led to the successful financing of Thesan, and provide essential insight and guidance for those who aim to achieve similar success in a biotech/pharma startup company.
