“Prelude to Spring”
Winter Bulb Festival
Saturday, March 2, 2013 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday, March 3, 2013 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
UC Irvine Arboretum

The UCI Arboretum hosts its popular annual Winter Bulb Festival on Saturday, March 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday March 3 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the UCI Arboretum.

The Winter Bulb Festival is centered around our beautiful South African bulb garden. The garden features rare and unusual species bulbs from Southern Africa with familiar names such as Gladiolus, Watsonia, Spiraxis and Babiana. These are the wild ancestors of our modern hybrids, with flowers in many unique colors and shapes. Experts from the UC Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer questions about the garden.

Visitors can also enjoy early spring blooms elsewhere in the garden, particularly our Aloe gardens, South African perennial garden, and our
California native gardens.

General admission is $2.00 for this event, with children under 12 free.

The UCI Arboretum is located just south of the corner of Campus Drive and Jamboree Road on the UCI North Campus. Our regular hours are
Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information please e-mail ldlyons@uci.edu or call (949) 824-5833.
