My commitment to not only give back, but to remain actively engaged with UCI, stems from the pride I have for the University.  This pride is deeply rooted in how the school’s reputation has grown tremendously (in both academia and in research) since my first days as a Bio Sci freshman in 1980, and in how closely the School of Bio Sci’s theme of “MIND|BODY|WORLD” closely aligns with my philosophy.  I feel compelled to share with the community all the great research that UCI is doing to advance the future of medicine, and I accomplish this through outreach and my community involvement.  I encourage my fellow alumni to do the same.  It is so gratifying!
