On October 27, 2014, the Irvine Division of the Academic Senate of the University of California announced the winners of its 2014-2015 Distinguished Faculty Awards. Two Biological Sciences School Faculty were named as recipients:
Daniel G. Aldrich, Jr. Distinguished University Service Award:
Andrea J. Tenner, Professor of Neurobiology and Behavior
Distinguished Assistant Professor Award for Research:
Seyed Ali Mortazavi, Assistant Professor of Developmental and Cell Biology
Additional winners from around campus are as follows:
- Distinguished Mid-Career Faculty Award for Research: Professor Chuansheng Chen
- Distinguished Faculty Award for Teaching: Associate Professor Matthew Beckmann
- Distinguished Assistant Professor Award for Teaching: Lecturer Teresa A. Dalton
- Distinguished Mid-Career Faculty Award for Service: Professor Jonathan Alexander
These awards will be presented on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 4:30 p.m. at the Newkirk Alumni Center. H. Kumar Wickramasinghe, Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and recipient of the Distinguished Faculty Award for Research, will present a lecture titled:
“SCANNING PROBE MICROSCOPY – AN ENABLER FOR NANTECHNOLOGY”
